Regenerative agriculture is a complex topic to understand, but without it the future of food is at risk. Even our beloved staples like rice.

On World Soil Day, Knorr partnered with former White House chef Sam Kass to host $The 500 Dinner, a unique dining experience designed to educate media and food influencers on the importance of regenerative agriculture and what might happen to the cost of a meal if we continue using conventional agricultural practices.

The three-course meal, which is priced around $72, and features ingredients that are at risk if we continue sustainable agricultural practices. If we don’t make changes, within a few decades, this same meal could cost $500.

The Menu

Using rice as a hero ingredient, the menu features high-risk ingredients that could become premium rarities by 2050 if we don’t adopt regenerative practices.

The dinner experience unfolded in multiple parts, revealing the future of rice story as their guests enter and move through the space.

The Take-Away

At the end of the event, each guest took home a gift bag with Knorr product samples and their very own soil mixing kit, allowing them to practice what they’ve learned about regenerative agriculture through the course of the evening.
